In 2012 and 2013 I had the opportunity and pleasure to present 'Hammond Alive' on a weekly Dutch national Radio 6 program as a co-host of the renowned Co de Kloet. The idea of Hammond Alive was founded by my friend and co-developer at that time Lucien Ravensberg and myself: talking about the history and future of the Hammond organ, great Hammond players and a prominent Hammond Songbook add by a Hammond pro. Every week our guest added three favorite songs to the Spotify playlist and talked about their inspiration and their present artistic work. A iTunes weekly podcast was published with the show. Unfortunately, the show had to stop due to a new layout of the radio 6 format.
But, the idea of expanding and renewing the Hammond Songbook still kept me going and I'm happy to announce that it'll be continued very soon! Hammond Songbook will become a central point in the Hammond community under construction, my historical research (kind of canon of the Hammond) and the connection with new and young players of the instrument or users of its sound.
Imagine that Hammond Songbook consists of the historical most influential tracks, live and studio recordings, producers and dj's using Hammond sound in a very creative way, a Dutch list of favorite Hammond tracks, etc. You get the chance to be part of this new initiative very soon. In the meantime you're able to listen to the list which was constructed by the Hammond Alive program.
